About Us
Hi there! We're a two-person team creating original animation and music on YouTube.
Melmel is charge of the animation and designs, and Toneoko is charge of everything on the music side.
Both of us have 10+ years experience working in the art industry, and we both love listening to lofi videos while we work/relax/gaming, etc.!
We started the channel in 2023, and posted our first video in Jan 2024. At first it was a fun side project for us, but as more and more AI generated lofi channels started taking over YouTube, we started to take our channel more seriously because we don't want to see the entire lofi space getting replaced by AI. We're so glad to find out that there are a lot of people sharing the same feeling!

- How do we know if the art is AI generated or human made?
Gen AI music usually sounds like it doesn't have a main melody and have the same โโsound effects in each song (like those bland ai channels that slap the sound of rain in each song) Gen AI artwork usually has a combination of weird/random mistakes and inconsistencies in style. Gen AI is also getting better and better, but two things you can always look for are
1) are the music and illustration credited to specific artists;
2) are there a lot of videos in a short amount of time on one channel (unless there are multiple artists on the same channel). The music and animation for one album take us weeks to make. โโWe also share work in progress/behind the scene stuff in our Discord server and Patreon.ย
- Can I use your music for streaming?
Yes you can stream with our music in the background and please credit Lofi Axol somewhere in your stream. This does not include the use of our music in recorded video (such as YouTube videos). Please email us for licensing.
- What's the name of your axolotl character?
Her name is Rela, short for Relaxol ^^
